Katherina Thomas

I am a PhD student in Economics in the IDEA Graduate Program at the Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE (CSIC)), Universitat Autonòma de Barcelona (UAB) and Barcelona School of Economics (BSE).

My research fields are: Applied Microeconomics, Development Economics and Labor Economics.

I am interested in the human capital development of children and adolescents. In this context, I aim to answer open questions connected to nutrition, education and inequality. In my job market paper, I evaluate how parental investments in nutrition and schooling influence children's cognitive skills in Indonesia and how policies can close the skill gap between children from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
